The new vehicles will be used on the A24/A25 and will replace older vehicles. Investment by SDP of approximately 2 million euros
Strada dei Parchi, concessionaire of the A24/A25 motorways, has delivered the first batch of new cars to the Traffic Police, these are the first 6 vehicles of a total of 24 Skoda Superbs that will immediately enter service along the 300 km of the motorway network that connects Rome with Abruzzo. The initiative is the result of the full-scale collaboration between the Highway Police and SDP with the aim of maintaining high standards of safety and prevention of motorway traffic. All this will happen thanks to the close and consolidated coordination between Strada dei Parchi and the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of the Interior.
The delivery, which took place at the Rome East Highway Patrol Subsection, was attended by Director Filiberto Mastrapasqua, the Head of the Lazio and Umbria Highway Police Department, Dr. Teseo De Sanctis, the Head of the Abruzzo and Molise Highway Police Department, Dr. Andrea Mainardi, the President, Cesare Ramadori, and the CEO of Strada dei Parchi, Costantino Ivoi.
The commitment to provide the patrols in service on the network with the fleet of vehicles and a series of technological tools is part of the agreement that the concessionaire has stipulated with the Department of Public Safety of the Ministry of the Interior. In fact, to ensure maximum efficiency by the police in controlling the arterial road, it is necessary that the vehicles are periodically replaced with new ones. Over 3 million km are travelled annually by vehicles operating on the A24/A25 and the overall investment by Strada dei Parchi in this area amounts to approximately 2 million euros.
“The renewed collaboration between Strada dei Parchi and the Highway Police is a fundamental condition for ensuring safety for travellers on the A24/A25. The officers play a valuable role in preventing and combating incorrect driving behaviour and it is a source of great satisfaction for us to be able to contribute to this commitment by providing new means to facilitate them in their daily work” – comments Ivoi.
